Hi there. Over at Lightship Visual one of the post streams you'll find is that design studio's computer desktop which is changing on a weekly basis. Lightship Visual is HSR's own Stu Medley hard at work with his design hat on. Following a recent meeting with record sleeve luminary George Hardie (of Pink Floyd and Led Zep sleeves fame) Stu has been going through his rather wide catalogue of vinyl LPs, old and new, to dig out the best examples of gatefolds. Happily these fit nicely onto a computer desktop.

This week's Lightship Visual Desktop comes from the inside gatefold of Todd Rundgren's overlooked 1972 masterpiece, 'Something/Anything?'. In keeping with the often hilarious melodrama and histrionics of the music AND the fact that Todd put the whole thing together himself (not easy in pre-digital days) here we see Todd finishing up, with the dawn sunlight coming through the curtains, saluting an imaginary audience. Has he gone insane from sleep depravation and overwork? Or is it just another way for the Todd to show off his fab sense of humour in a pre-emptive strike against any accusations of self-indulgence. There's no credit for the photo, Todd probably took that too.
